About Me

I’m writing my second novel, an upmarket drama about two revenge-seeking sisters. My short stories were nominated for Best Microfiction 2022, Best Small Fictions 2022 and the Pushcart Prize 2021. I’ve published short stories, flash fiction, journalism, and creative nonfiction. While earning my BA in English from Yale, I studied fiction writing under Robert Stone and John Crowley and wrote my thesis about Virginia Woolf.

An inveterate traveler, I recently returned from two years in Florence, Italy. These days, home means Richmond, Virginia, where my husband and I are raising our three children and rescue dog. I have also lived in Greece, Uruguay and Rome. I speak fluent Italian as well as French and Spanish.

Prior to pursuing my lifelong dream of writing novels, I worked in business for fifteen years. I received my MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. A non-comprehensive list of my former jobs includes blackjack dealer, caterer, founder of a liquor brand, ballroom dance instructor, and GMAT instructor. As a startup executive, I wrote and spoke frequently about diversity hiring and women in leadership.

In my spare time, I read insatiably, run marathons, tackle New York Times crosswords, and bake chocolate treats (almond toffee, fudge brownies, thin mint cookies… all the chocolate).
